Housing Services & Support
Our Residential Home
Housing Services
We provide Residential care and support for children, aged 8-18 of both sexes, who have had adverse childhood experiences. The children we care for, and support may present with emotional difficulties, be at risk of being exploited, and present with challenging behaviour. We undertake comprehensive assessments of each child’s needs and introduce children to the home in a way that is right for them.
As part of our overall service, we collaborate with partner agencies, such as CAMHS to ensure that each child’s psychological needs are met. We also commission an independent psychological service who have supported us to foster and embed a trauma-informed, PACE, approach within the home. This approach takes account of children’s attachment histories and helps to ensure that children and young people are provided with a therapeutic approach from staff within a framework agreed upon through the child’s care planning process.
We provide a consistent, homely, safe, nurturing, and fun environment where children are encouraged to contribute to the running of the home to develop their sense of belonging. We support each child to attend education, and we also offer daily activities both inside and outside of the home.
Whilst living at the home, the children are encouraged to eat a healthy balanced diet, and we consider any dietary requirements. We promote confidence and self-esteem through praise and rewards, and we encourage children to have a voice by encouraging them to share their, views, wishes, and we promote positive relationships by supporting the children to maintain contact with family and friends with whom it is safe to do so.
Our diverse multicultural staffing team, support each child in our care to engage in celebrations that are meaningful to them, and we ensure we have a good awareness of each child’s diverse needs.
By providing care and support that enables each child to establish their own identity and opportunities to reach their full potential, we are able to promote a culture of honesty, respect, and trusting relationships so that each young person can feel safe, develop and move readily onto independence.

‘Move On’ Support
Support & Mentoring
When the young person moves on from our care, we offer ‘move on’ support to young people during their transition to independence, supporting them as they develop their life skills.
In conjunction with the young person’s social worker and care plan we will ensure that the young person is supported in decisions with their ‘move on’ plan at the earliest opportunity, which will include helping them to set up tenancies, understanding bills, learning how to budget, learning to cook meals and teaching how to be a good neighbour. We help them settle into their property and are on hand to support them face to face and on the phone with any emotional or practical issues they may encounter on a day-to-day basis.
By supporting them with these skills amongst others we hope to see the young people develop into confident and independent young people with the key skills they required to take forward in life.
‘Invested in providing high – quality care and support within the community that makes a real, positive and lasting difference in children, families and young people’s lives’.
